Who we are
A Newark courier operation, run by people who still drive.
Nationwide Logistics is a working courier and freight company operating out of 825 Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark, serving customers throughout New York and New Jersey.
The business started the way most good ones in this industry do. Someone who had spent years behind the wheel and on the dock got tired of watching customers get let down by carriers who were too big to notice. Deliveries that sat because nobody flagged a closed dock. Quotes that arrived as invoices with three extra lines on them. Dispatch numbers that rang into a call centre in another state where nobody had any idea what a Manhattan loading zone restriction actually means in practice.
So the company got built the other way around. Small enough that the person who quotes your job is the person who knows which vehicles are free. Local enough that our yard sits inside the same industrial corridor your freight is already passing through. Equipped enough that a single envelope and fourteen pallets can go out on the same day under the same phone number.
We are not trying to be a national parcel network. There are companies that do that well and cheaply, and for a non-urgent box going to Ohio you should absolutely use one. What we do is the work those networks handle badly: the urgent, the oversized, the fragile, the time-critical and the awkward, inside a metro area we know street by street.
Turnpike Exit 13A corridor
825 Frelinghuysen Avenue puts us between Port Newark, Newark Liberty and Route 1&9. It is the reason our pickup windows are measured in minutes rather than hours.
From the owner
I have been moving freight around this corner of the country long enough to know what customers are really buying. It is not a truck. Anyone can put a truck on the road. What you are buying is the ability to turn to your own customer and promise them something, and then have that promise hold.
That is why I keep this operation the size it is. When you call, you get somebody who can see the whole board and make a decision on the spot. When something goes wrong on the road, and in this business it does, you find out from us while there is still time to do something about it. I have been on the other side of that phone call as a customer and I know exactly how much the silence costs.
We cover New York and New Jersey. Not because it sounds impressive but because that is the ground I can personally stand behind, every street of it, seven days a week. If you have a run that has been giving you trouble, call me and describe it. If we are the right fit I will tell you what it costs. If we are not, I will tell you that too.
How we operate
Four commitments we do not bend on.
Every carrier says they are reliable. These are the specific, checkable things that back it up.
We would rather turn work down than miss it
Saying yes to a job we cannot cover is how a carrier gets fired. If the window is not realistic you will hear that on the first call, while you still have time to make another plan.
The phone gets answered
Dispatch is a person, not a queue. That is a deliberate limit on how big we let this get, because the moment nobody can tell you where your load is, the service is gone.
Everything is covered and documented
Commercial auto, general liability and cargo insurance, with certificates issued the same day when a building or facility asks for one.
Priced the same in January as in December
No surge pricing when the weather turns. Rates hold, and the quote you were given is the invoice you get.
What we handle
Small enough to care, equipped enough to take the load.
The range matters more than it sounds. It means you are not managing three different carriers for three different sizes of problem.
- Envelopes, legal documents and small parcels
- Cartons, totes and irregular boxed goods
- Palletized freight from one skid to a full 26 foot load
- Oversized and awkward items that parcel networks refuse
- Temperature sensitive and time-critical medical shipments
- Multi-stop routes and recurring scheduled runs
The detail
Compliance, paperwork and the unglamorous parts.
| Item | What we carry | How to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial auto liability | Coverage on every vehicle in the fleet | Certificate issued same day |
| General liability | Standard commercial policy | Certificate issued same day |
| Cargo insurance | Coverage on goods in transit, limits confirmed per job | Stated on your quote |
| Certificate of insurance | Naming your company or building as certificate holder | Send us the requirements, we return it the same day |
| Proof of delivery | Signature, printed name, time stamp, or photo at door | Emailed on job completion |
| Invoicing | Per job, or consolidated weekly or monthly for account customers | Set up when you open an account |
Specific policy numbers and limits are confirmed in writing before a first job. If your facility has particular requirements, send them over and we will confirm whether we already meet them.
Ready when you are
Start with one job and see how it goes.
Most of our long-term accounts began as a single urgent run somebody was nervous about. Give us the difficult one first.
Quotes come back the same business day. Tell us the pickup, the drop and the deadline, and we will tell you whether we can hold it before you commit to your customer.
